Cycling Ireland is undertaking a talent identification process aimed at girls born between 1995-1999 across all cycling disciplines in order to build a good team for future events such as junior world cups and championships. The goal is to further the high performance program that Irish cycling has been developing recently and progressing this process for a more positive future for elite Irish cycling. I thought it was worth putting the word out there in order to encourage people to get involved in this...a great initiative. Here is a link to the cycling ireland website with info. regarding the program:

yes another good initiative. The hope is that as with the boys we can put in a structure that will try get 1 or 2 excellent riders per year. I hope this will encourage young women to try racing when there is a pathway to the highest levels in place.

this is a departure from the way development used to happen but hopefully it will be successful for us. Us is not just the CI board it is the greater cycling family.
