SDHC I Card Problem

    Hi
I recently purchased a 'Sandisk Extreme HD Video SDHC I 16 GB' memory card (class 10) for use with a Canon 600D. When on holidays I filled the card with RAW images with no problems and reviewed same. I since have tried to download the images from the new 16 gb card both using the card slot on my windows pc and by connecting by camera to the PC. The card does not register on the PC or via the camera (an 8gb card I have still works - its a straight forward SDHC). When I now try to view the images on the 16gb card directly on the camera I get the error 'Card cannot be accessed. Reinsert/change the card or format card with camera.'
Can anyone point me to a solution to this problem?
Also to prempt any questions, when I bought the 16 GB card I simply inserted into my camera and started shooting, no issues, never thought to format the card as didn't think it was necessary. Lastly, the card was bought in Dublin airport so assume its the real deal!
    Thanks
    M

Try using sandisk rescue pro, usually comes with a trial with your card. Then once you can transfer your photos to your computer just format the card in camera and it should hopefully sort it

Thanks for the the reply Steve,

My main issue is that my PC will not even pick up the card when I put into the card reader slot, same applies to the USB connection, so I've no opportunity to recover the data.

It works fine when I try it with a Sandisk 8GB SDHC Class 10 card
The problem is when I try the Sandisk 16GB SDHC I Class 10 card

Do you if the 'I' in SDHC I refers to anything....suspect it may be causing some non-compatability by can't find any info on it.

    Thanks

Unfortunately, Window may have corrupted the card. many of these cards don't like being full, especially if you had some in the buffer and it stopped in part transfer from the camera ~ Ideally the card should have stopped with enough space left but I've seen it happen a few times.

Ideally too you would have tried the card and formatted it a few times, just this weekend I was doing a job for another photographer and my cards would not read in his laptop running Windows 7 ~ ouch and in front of customers.

You are in card recovery mode, you may need to send it to the specialists, if you have access to XP and recovery software and SDHC aware readers then it may well get recognised by the XP machine and files or most of them recovered ~ be aware that this process if successful may take several hours.

It could be an update that Windows wants, but from my experience, it's probably not recoverable from your machine now.
