You can't order many electronics from Amazon anymore, I think its due to the WEEE thing. No way around it but look elsewhere I think!

If you cant get it shipped, you cant get it shipped, only suggestion would be to get it delivered to a friend in NI or UK and have them send it onto you

I thought theres no problem with shipping as long as its amazon itself your buying from and not one of its other sellers , on the products you want to buy check if its available from other sellers and if amazon itself is listed try buying from them

I tried to order a dvd from another website similar to amazon but they wouldn't ship it to my address, they would only ship it if sent to a UK address!

I suppose there are restrictions on shipping electronic stuff outside the UK so you just need to find a UK address you can ship it too unfortunately.

I've given up on Amazon for this precise reason. I used to buy a lot from them, not because they were cheaper, they were not, but they were reliable and often free post too so that clawed back a lot from the extra cost of the items.

Some time ago they would not ship to IRL, then they would then they wouldn't on some items and it became annoying on things like printing inks, so I just don't bother any-more and have not used them in 12 months now.

And it's not that you can't get the things shipped because you can, and sometimes a fixed postal charge too or even free as well so why Amazon don't ship has to be more a despatch management decision rather than legalities, IMO.

Amazon started shipping electronic stuff as long as its bought from them and not one of their other buying options.

Use the German site, google will translate it for you and there's no problem with shipping.

Amazon ship almost everything here now. Check who you are buying from on Amazon, 3rd party companies have shipping restrictions on some items. Amzon themselves will ship HDTVs, games consoles etc here no problem. I have been buying from them for years now.

I would say that if it's the third party vendor not shipping, then that should be crystal clear.

As far as my story goes, I was buying from Amazon and wanted repeat orders ~ the non shipping message needs attention from Amazon ~ I don't follow search links to Amazon anymore, as I said.

Just keeps coming up with this message:
You should post a link to the item so people can check it out.

In the past people have emailed amazon and they fixed the apparent problems.

Some mp4 devices are classed as storage devices or media and might not be able to be sold here (by choice by amazon), like blank dvds.

    It's this Sumvision player

Thats strange so, I seem to have no problem ordering it, the seller is 3rd party so I thought that might be it, but I am up at checkout and it accepted the address so far. Even added on shipping so it knows its not uk

    Items: GBP 29.75
    Postage & Packing: GBP 5.40
    Order Total: GBP 35.15

    (Payment Total: EUR 41,67**)

Perhaps give it another go, it even has Ireland recognised on a delivery page, maybe they changed it recently.

there are several sellers listed for that item. Not all of them ship to ireland. Which seller did you pick?

hmmm, I clicked on his link again and got a different seller, I didn't think that would happen. My second seller Online*Computers*Electronics*Bargains has higher postage.

    first seller was Bluestone Online

Weird, huh? When i click on it i get a different seller that doesnt ship to ireland. Perhaps the same thing happened too the OP and they didnt notice that there were other sellers.

If you really want that ASUS laptop go to komplett.ie. If you try to buy a laptop from the states the shipping will be expensive and you will most likely have to pay import duty + VAT.

Actually, some items do. They add import duty at checkout. Costs are prohibitive and warranty/returns issues render it pointless though imo.

I'm trying to order an MP3 player from Amazon.co.uk. The MP3 player in question, a Sansa Clip + 8GB with expansion slot for £34.00, is being sold by Amazon (not a third party Marketplace seller). I've also included some other non-electronic items in the same order.

When I proceed to checkout I get the same error message as the OP for the MP3 player (won't deliver to selected address) ... any idea why? The delivery error message doesn't apply to the the non-electronic items.

(I've mailed Amazon and await their reply.)

I found the player and got the same message,

    on this page it shows

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?ie=UTF8&nodeId=524836
The following items can be delivered to addresses within the UK only:

Children's clothing and nappies, children's shoes, children's car seats

Blank media items, such as blank CDs, DVDs and MP3 players

    Safety equipment and medicines.

I think the mp3 player is classed as blank media as it stores music and has no other use (e.g. a hard drive can still be bought). Ireland and other places have levies on media. It is like they presume you are pirating and fining you in advance.

Apple mp3 players are shipped here from amazon so it's a weird situation if one mp3 player is classed as blank media and another not. Amazon are a mystery :D and their cust. services are useless if not dealing with returns/their script
