Foreign cheque clearance

I lodged two cheques that were in pound sterling into my account over 3 weeks ago. One was for about £350 and the other for £25. They told me it would take 3 weeks for them to clear but it's been over that now and still waiting. Should I contact the bank about this or the people who wrote the cheques?
If there's a problem with one then do they wait to clear the whole amount?
Very annoying cos I'm depending on this money!

Can take up 6-8 weeks depending on the issuing bank. But can come back sooner.

They must have been sent on collection basis.

20 working days is the standard for these cheques. Contact ur bank and they will tell u when they clear.
