Hi,
Can anyone explain why Garda is not doing anything with all this idiots driving with fog lights on all time?

If it's so low in importance so, why was it made an offence to use them inappropriately in the first instance.
That's the real sickness in this country, we have so many regulations and laws and most don't seem to be worth the paper they are written on :mad:

One more before lock...

It is indeed a pet hate, especially in wintertime and especially in long drives. It is one of a perfect storm of factors that can lead to an accident.

Maybe the Guards have better things to do, but that was the thought prior to the new speeding vans. If enough people complain and highlight it, something will eventually be done

Mainly because the Gardaí are too bloody lazy to give a flying f**k about enforcing the rules of the road.

Or maybe, if we were to enforce every rule for everyone on the road we would need to triple the amount of Guards in the Country. Do you know where we can find the money for that?

I did a return drive to Cork from Dublin yesterday and there were spells of quite bad fog. Of course people forgot to turn them off when it cleared, annoying, but that's it. What bothered me far more where people that didn't put on their fog lights in the fog. They were barely visible and a danger on the road.
Also separately there were drivers out there that thought it was perfectly fine to drive at 120km/h in thick fog. One van driver was overtaking me and suddenly the toll booth appeared out of the fog and he swerved to avoid going in the tags only lane, he ended half in my lane just in front of me. Eegit.
