Condit out winner of Diaz penn in!

UFC announce that the fight has being changed again, despite Dana White insisting Condit would be getting the next shot no matter the outcome.

Diaz or GSP, how and why?

Did Condit get shafted or get some other deal to compensate?

Who can Condit face in the mean time, rematch with Ellenberger, or a fight with Fitch? Dana said that Condit gets the next shot provided he wins, so its effectively a number one contender match.

Dana said he agreed to step aside but some tweets from his manager suggest he ain't too happy about it. (Grouped a few tweets together here)
Sorry @DamonMartin can't wait until tomorrow. @CarlosCondit didn't just step aside. Gsp is choosing to fight nick. last I checked "carlos is the harder fight." So I guess now he'll fight nick. Wasn't our choice and def not happy about it, BUT It is what it is, and we'll figure some things out. In the mean time, I'm sure @danawhite Is going to make it worth his while ;)

Condit vs Rumble Johnson is one I'd like to see.

Condit / Ellenberger rematch seems logical for that fight. Condit only won the first fight by SD but I think the UFC will probably give Koscheck the fight.

This whole GSP/Diaz thing is the UFC doing a WWE.

They're fighting, not fighting and now it's on again is just to hype the GSP/Diaz fight that was always going to happen if Diaz beat Penn.

If Diaz had lost to Penn then he clearly wouldn't have been good enough to beat GSP and the GSP V Condit fight was still there anyway.

Yeah I think that's what they'll do alright. Ellenberger is fast making a big name for himself, especially since he destroyed Shields. I'd like to see that rematch. And if the UFC do it this way it'll avoid them possibly having to have Koscheck v GSP again.

They should throw Condit in with Fitch, on the basis that if he can't beat Fitch we can save ourselves a 5 round snoozefest main event with GSP somewhere down the line.

that sounds about right to me and makes perfect sense

id love to see condit v diaz myself because unlike bj, condit would
go flat our for three and would probably stand with diaz
id fancy condit to take diaz myself

He's fighting on the same card, so he may be getting a PPV cut. He was part of the promo after all.

Diaz is amazing to watch but I can't take to him at all.

It makes more business sense for the UFC to put him in with GSP

I can see a boring lay and pray strategy coming for this one

What about rematch with Rory McDonald?
That first fight was Rory's till Condit caught him.

I don't think that will happen. I say the UFC are just waiting for Rory Mc Donald to get a few more solid wins then have a battle of Canada with GSP in the Rogers Centre.

It makes sense of a fight but it wont happen. Mc Donald is two fights, possibly three away from a title shot.

Just had a thought there.. would anyone object to Condit getting himself injured to preserve his title shot? Get a match scheduled then get a light injury and pull out and time it right so he can ask for his title shot afterwards.

Sure its morally objectionable but its it any worse than how he lost his shot in the first place?

Spoiled the fight for me anyway! Pretty damn annoying!

The thread title gave away the winner, I infracted rather than banning as I feel it was honest mistake-I changed the title so it's not a spoiler anymore

Anyway, let's get back on topic

it's been 36 hours since the fight, watch it within the first 24 and if you're not gonna do that then don't come onto mma websites or message forums

But sometimes I have an event recorded and still come into this forum to check on other news from different events and all things mma. To avoid spoilers all I have to do is not click that particular thread. But if there's spoilers in the thread title then it'll ruin it as you can't avoid seeing it when you enter the forum.

Plus, the charter says to give it a week before putting spoilers in the thread title. We can chat about it as openly as we want within the thread once the title lets people know there's spoilers inside.

i just watched it now but threads come up on the boards homepage too which ruined it for me. not all of us can catch it live or in the first 24hrs! the charter says no title spoilers until a week after

It wasn't 36 hours since the fight when the thread was started, it was a few hours. Given the time of the fight it had to potential to ruin it for a lot of people.
