Are you one of the unlucky 300 trying to port from Vodafone to Meteor on 4S?

If you are trying to port from Vodafone to Meteor on the 4S like, apparently, around 300 others then join me in my dismay.

I started the porting process at 5:30pm yesterday and as of yet my number has not transferred. Apparently 300 others are the same and it is an issue with Vodafone.

Vodafone say the issue is with Meteor.

What are the chances most of the people who might be able to fix the issue have gone home for the weekend? :(

I sold my 3gs and it was posted today. I cannot even try the 087 sim in the 4s because it is not a Micro Sim. Nobody can call me. Nobody can text me and I am not handing out this temporary 085 number because that would create chaos.

Why oh why didn't I just pay the €20pcm extra and stay with Vodafone? :(

I could be the same as you, except I'm going voda > emobile but I have a multiline account which I expected to take longer, I was hoping for it to be soon but with the weekend that's in it worst case scenario I'm guessing will be mon/tues. it's not bothering me too much as I'm not working till then, and if anyone really needs me they have more than my ( temporarily defunct) number...

Comregs new rules provide for compensation for delays in porting

As per subject title. I'm porting two O2 numbers to Voda and it's been over 24 hours now :(

i had this issue with meteor, signed up yesterday morning at about 9:30am,took 3 hours for my application to be processed before actually being given the iPhone, then it took till 11am this morning for my number to be ported!

so the issue is probably with Meteor.!

Moved from O2 to Meteor within an hour this morning over the phone, so it may not be Meteor.

10am so now 42 hours since trying to port. Last night they offered me €20 towards my bill. I told them I would prefer the problem to be fixed and when it is they can revisit compensation. No point accepting €20 at 8pm last night when it could take another 48-72-96 hours to fix.

    Porting complete in 47 hours.

Blows their 1 hour promise(in store) out of the water.

Up to 4 hours over the phone.
    By 10am over the phone.
    By 12pm over the phone.
Within 24 hours over the phone.

    About time. :(

Moved from Vodafone to Emobile Friday evening - still not completely ported. I can text and call from new sim/iphone but all incoming calls and texts are still going to old Vodafone sim.

    Very annoying.

Yep Meteor missed the point i was making. They said "but you have a phone number". YES I DO BUT NOBODY KNOWS IT!!!

I also couldn't put my 087 sim into the phone for 2 reasons.

    1. The phone is locked to Meteor
    2. The Sim Card from the 3GS is not a Micro Sim so won't fit anyway.

Let's see what Meteor have to say Tuesday morning when the senior staff return to work to find a Bank Holiday **** storm since Friday afternoon. :D

Porting now uncomplete again. Number gone from Vodafone and not with Meteor. Cannot receive Texts. Useless.

I rang Vodafone today as Emobile had told me it was Vodafone's fault and believe it or not, the Vodafone rep admitted it was their problem/fault. They have a massive backlog and expect them to be all finalised tomorrow.

Not really good enough but at least it's not the fault of the new network I've just signed up to!

You should still seek compensation as is your right under the comreg rules

I had a look at the rules and they state that people should be switched over as quickly as possible but it should not take more than one working day. However, as I ported on Friday evening, strictly speaking, one working day hasn't passed yet... therefore, no entitlement to compensation. Or am I missing something?

I'm not so sure as porting takes place on saturdays and half day sundays. But it's up to yourself

Well thanks for the link - I will definitely be making a complaint and will seek some kind of compensation.

ports usually take place up to 6pm weekdays and 4.30pm sat/sun/bank holidays.

still not ported by the way. hopefully it'll be done tomorrow.

Does seem like a hell of a lot of people have left Vodafone in the last few days.

Another one here. Vodafone to three. Told in store 2 hours. 24 hours later called three who blamed Vodafone, and Vodafone were blaming three. Then the port worked half way. Outgoing calls and text from new 4s, incoming to old 3GS. After 48 hours issue persisted, but I then lost all signal on Vodafone 3GS. Assumed porting was complete but it wasnt, was missing some calls and texts. After 72 hours (tonight) it seems to be ok, well I don't know if I'm missing texts or not but have gotten friends and family on every network to text me and it seems to be working. It's not fully complete yet as three still think the port hasn't even started as they recognize my number as an 083 number and therefore I cannot log into my3. No big deal, but they're very confused about the issue. Not a smooth changeover at all.

Their bill pay plans are disgraceful. Customer service and network quality are great, but it's not worth what they're charging

Porting is the process of moving your number from one network to another. Usually it takes a couple of hours to 'port' your number to another network but there seems to be huge issues with the release of the 4s and the large number of people porting to different networks.
