I find sometimes that a cool event was on in my locality, but I just missed it. I don't read any papers, so I guess I'm likely to miss such things. Is there a good website or twitter feed that highlights such events? Not entertainment.ie.

Google your area to find out if it has a facebook or/and twitter page. A lot of people advertise things there. Facebook is a great way to find out about events and other stuff happening in your area. Also add all the pubs & clubs, etc, in your area on facebook.
