The inauguration of the new president is November 11th, so Mary will probably leave the Aras that morning :D

The sooner the better. She's had 14 years living like a Queen on the taxpayer. She wasnt a bad president but not a great one imo. She could have made more discontented noises around the time of the bank bailout but she chose not to. Why? Because she a Fianna Failer.

She was one of the best presidents this country has ever seen - she actually did stuff with the role rather than sit on her bum doing nothing.

All she could do re the bank bailout was decide if it was unconstitutional or not. Otherwise, it was not her place to make "discontented noises".

Im aware of what she could/could not do. In the extreme circumstances where the govt is forcing something so grave and threatening to the people and future of ireland, she should have shown her teeth and came out and condemned it but she stayed onside, and she never critiscised the government once.

No, she wouldn't have made those noises because the position of president is non-political and the holder is expected not to intervene in political matters. Essentially they give up their political affiliations once elected.
