My local nightclub puts pics on FB! I asked them to remove one, do you think they will? Has anyone been in this situation before?

    Who takes the pictures?

Does the photographer ask your permission and tell you what will be done with the photo?

Does the nightclub have a notice before you enter stating that patrons will be photographed?

If the nightclub wants to use social media in a good way they should be doing the above.

No permission is asked for, there are some pose pictures taken but also of people caught unawares.

No sign but if you go on the page you will see pictures from previous nights. There is definately a cannot miss sign and I would be amazed if there is one at all but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Over 24 hours since my 1st post I have literally checked their page every hour I have been awake and only got 5 hours sleep as I was anxious due to it being online without my permission. I was confident writing to them in mail would be enough, but evidently not.

If emailing them doesn't work, try getting hold of the nightclub owner or manager. You're more likely to get what you want that way!

It would best practice to have a sign up "Patrons may be photographed or videotaped and you consent to do so by passing this point". They should also ask patrons first and tell them how they will be used. And, finally, there should be a take down policy.

It makes no sense for a nightclub to show patrons who are either drunk or perhaps engaged in some "activity:. Damages their own reputation and embarrasses their customers.
