    Hey guys,

Going buying a ford focus diesel in the new year, 2005, there there abouts. I was wondering where should I buy it? I'm from the south but the spec seems to be better from the north BUT cars seem to be clocked more from the north.

Does anyone have any thoughts on where to buy and people/places to contact?

Thanks for the help people :)

    Will.

Unlike Irish cars most UK Focus diesels will have a DPF. That is reason enough for me not to buy one.

The difficulty with buying a 6 year old diesel is that it will invariably have high mileage. If you can buy one with low mileage that has service history then that is the one to buy North or South doesn't really matter. ;)

What's a DPF? Its ok I googled it . Never knew about it . Sounds like a proper trouble maker

Not all of them have a DPF.

    1.6 TDCi (90bhp) no DPF,
    1.6 TDCi (110bhp) with DPF,
    1.8 TDCi (115bhp) no DPF.

Would a DPF be good with the diesel now being changed since the start of 2011 to ULSD....Ultra low sulfur diesel and protect the engine?

DPF do cause trouble and have a tendency to clog driving at low speeds and the soot builds and then you need to drive at higher speeds to clear the DPF
