Hi to cut a long story short my oil ran out a while back.Needed service so got oil and service. Was fine for 3 days. Then stopped working. Plumber came back to adjust something.Grand again for few days. Then fumes pipe started going black and rusty, as did side of burner and wall in garden with big black mark.
Heating gone again and unable to contact plumber.
Its not the red reset button but when i call for heat in house the only way to get burner to fire up is by pressing the dual thermostat button inside the burner. But the heating doesnt come on when the clock timer asks for heat. Not much use when we get up in morning and house is cold.
    Any advice

Sounds like it has soothed up and will need a proper full service, if a technician hasn't got a flue gas analyser and give you a printout don't trust them

Thanks for the reply. The plumber did do a service but I got no print out. Whats the analyser for? When burner fire up now soot sparks fly out of flue pipe for a second

Sounds like it's completely choked up

The flue analyser is an electronic tool used to setup your boiler fuel air mixture (the modern version of flame picture)

Kinda same as what they use when testing your car emissions on your NCT
