Irish Rail Smartcard

    Just a quick question, as I may need to use the train soon a little.

    Where can you get an Irish Rail prepaid smartcard from that I saw advertised on the DART a few weeks ago? I've barely used the rail system in the last few years so I'm totally out of touch with this.

    Also:
    - How do you top it up?
    - Do you have to pay for the card itself?
    - For what kind of journeys can it be used for?

    1: at TVMs
    2: Refundable fiver, and it'll be replaced with a Leap card FOC when these come in.
    3: Anything within the inner commuter zone, e.g. Maynooth line, DART, Hazelhatch, Balbriggan I think

    It does not hold "season tickets" of any kind, its only an epurse for single journies. Fares are a bit lower than cash.

    By the way: TVM = ticket vending machines.

    And you can also buy them from Irish Rail's website.
