A city man in his 50s has died following a road crash on the Tuam Road.
The single vehicle crash happened around half past nine just before Two Mile Ditch, on the turn off to Roadstone.
It's understood the car hit a wall.
The man in his mid 50s, with a city address was taken to University Hospital Galway.
The road is currently closed from Flemmings roundabout as Gardai continue a technical examination of the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area or follow signposted diversions.

    RIP

    RIP.

Hopefully it will be the only bank holiday incident in Galway. :(

there was a crash on the dublin road at 8.30 this morning, at dawn dairies, a corsa pulling out turning right was hit by an avensis heading towards GMIT.

dunno who was at fault, but it was some crash, the corsa spun off into the other lane, and the avensis front was all bent in. both right offs id say.

hope all involved are ok...hate to see road traffics accidents.

R.I.P. to the deceased. Sympathies to the family(ies) concerned.

Had wondered just the other day was there any/many crashes at that junction Darragh .....

Exact same set-up with Castlegar junction-area, at the old Leader's shop, - with bóithrín's / Cloonacauneen roads the opposide side ..... It's literally a lucky dash to go by and a car not to pull out from the Cloonacauneen side on top of ya or be movin' out but hidden from your view till yer well past that stretch ..... Madness .....

Seems like someone was hit by a car in the last half an hour on the Dublin Road. This is getting ridiculous now.

Terrible news if there has been yet another car accident!:(

I was wondering today if the recession and the possibility that people maybe don't have extra money for car upkeep, ya know like new tyres may be a possibility??

Just seems like an awful lot of accidents lately!
