wiped custom rom from HTC Desire

    ok. Got a big problem and hoping someone can help. My desire is rooted and s-lock offed. I had insertcoin rom installed.

    I was going in to wipe my gmail accounts from it as I am selling it. It said to do this i had to do a factory reset. Of course the factory reset wiped my sd card which has left my phone lifeless. Managed to stick a zip on the micro sd card again but when it boots it just goes to the coloured screen and no further!!

    Help please!

    Yes. But i cant find the backup i would have made on mu laptop!

    can you see the option boot from sd card.

    you scrool up and down with the volume buttons and the power button is the enter button.

    Did you put the ROM update.zip on the root of your SD card, or did you download it with ROM manager?

    Try to factory reset again. Occasionally I've seen this work. After you factory reset, the phone shouldn't need any of the files on your SD card.

    If that doesn't work:

    1 put a ROM zip on the root of your SD card.

    2 Turn off the phone.

    3 Hold Volume-down, and press the power button. When the phone turns on select the option to reboot into recovery.

    4 In recovery, wipe the cache and the dalvik-cache.

    5 install the ROM zip u put on SD card.

    That should work... send me a PM if it doesnt
