Would a Higgins victory harm US investment in Ireland?

Given Michael D Higgins' record of outspoken criticism of American foreign policy, and the critical role played by President McAleese in trade-delegations around the world, would a President Higgins be damaging for American investment in Ireland, thereby threatening jobs?

See Mark Humphry's blog for examples of Higgins' in your face bashing of American foreign policy. We may all sympathise with the sentiments but surely we cannot afford such a loose cannon representing us when we are more dependent on American FDI than ever? One-third of American investment in the EU comes to Ireland. American multinationals employed 250,000 people here in 2005.

Nah, I doubt it. This question has been asked a few times and wasn't taken very seriously then either.
I'm not sure of the relevance of quoting figures from 6 years ago

I think Ozzie2011 is in fact Sean Gallagher - he has given up on the poor Sean thread and is now moving on to negative against Michael D:):)

I am so glad there are so many Gallagher lackies now on Boards since Monday - shows he is fearful or losing.

To answer the question - Michael is anti US foreign policies, as are a sizeable number of US people now that the body bags are going home and the Military spending is crippling the economy. And no its won't effect relations.

I know, gosh I would never have expected Gallagher's insanely positive supporters to go all negative at the end. I'm really disappointed and feel sooo let down. I crave Seanie's positive message of hope :D
