    Hi everyone,
I was told this would be the site to ask about some glass bottles I found recently while clearing out my grannies attic.
I was about to chuck them out when my Aunt spotted them and thought they might be worth something/collectible, but I'm not convinced!
Take a look and let me know what you think they might be? There's some strange writing on them too, not sure what that's about.
    Thanks :)

They're old Chemist's or laboratory bottles..the writing on the front indicates what the bottle held..oil of almonds..tincture of camphor and carbolic acid..not sure what was in the blue one but something similar i'm sure...a syrup of some kind.
Note the grooves on the Carbolic acid bottle..this was to indicate that the bottle held a poison.
The idea of the grooves was that the bottle could be identified by touch in a dimly-lit room or cupboard.

The bottles probably date from 1910-1940's..its hard to tell as these sort of bottles were in use for a long time..they dont appear to be much earlier as clear glass wasnt used for bottles till the 20th century.

Interesting as it is, I'm guessing they are just junk really!

Oh well, out they'll go. Doing a MAJOR de-clutter.
    Thanks again :)

The blue one looks like Syrup of Senna (laxative)!

Check out some medicine bottle collecting sites. I found this one on Google http://www.antiquebottles.com/medicine/
