If you're in Maynooth, call into the guitar shop there opposite the pedestrian area. I can't remeber the name at the moment. I happened to be in Maynooth last week and went in for a look. Some very nice and not the run of the mill average instruments with good prices.

I picked up a kids accordian (which I'm told is actually a melodian) for €20 and it's good fun to play. There seems to be a lot of instruments geared towards having a good session with mates. Hardly surprising seeing as it's a studenty town. I also saw a melodica for €30 which I'll be back for.

The staff were sound and cheerful, explaining to me how to play the accordian and didn't mind me trying out a few of the instruments there.

    Kudos!
