    Hi,

I live near Loughrea and I'm looking for 3 large oak beams to use as a fire surround in my kitchen. 2 posts around 5 ft long x 10" x 10" and a top one say 7 ft x 12" x 12". Anyone know where I could get these google hasn't been much help.

A local saw mill is your best bet, there are a few listed in the Golden Pages. we often plane / sand them up for them.
For beams that size, it might be easier to get something in Douglas Fir, or have mock beams made up from 1" oak, because it gets expensive as it gets thicker in dimension and harder to get them with a suitable moisture content for indoor use.
