Cast on My left hand - Can I drive?

Just wondering is there any legal implications to me driving with a cast on my ring finger and pinky finger.

can you use the handbrake and change gear OK? If so I can't see a problem (you can hold the mobile in your other hand surely :-)

The question of Can you drive is for you to decide. Can you ? Can you safely operate your vehicle ?

Your best course of action would be to obtain something from your doctor stating that in his opinion you are fit to drive.

Otherwise, you could be open to issues.

I dislocated my thumb once and was pulled over on it. Had to obtain confirmation from my Doctor that I was fit to drive the cast on. Which he reluctantly did.

I fractured my right hand, was told at the hospital that if you are wearing a cast you are not covered by insurcance, I drove anyway cause I could, if you can why not.

If you are wearing a cast on your hand won't be covered by your insurance in the event of accident.

If your GP states you are ok to drive (in writing)you will be covered by your insurance.

Get one of those knob things for your steering wheel and you should be ok.
