Moved your thread to the HE Video Displays & Projectors forum, more likely to get help here.

Have you looked at LED Projectors?

Sorry guys I was caught away busy for a while. Thanks for the responses. I was initially looking to go OTT and buy a big Sony 55" top of the range bla bla bla spending €2k+ but now I'm thinking hang on a sec here... who'll be that impressed?
So there's the relatively thrifty LG options, 60" for €1099 or 50" for €578. Unless there's a major alarm bell going off I'm going to go for the 50" with a mind to buying bigger or better later if it doesn't work out. If it does work out I'll have cash to buy another 2 or so.

    Sound reasonable?

Only slightly. They don't really suit the layout of the pub and I'm always doubtful about the sharpness and brilliance of them in such a lit room.

Although I'm not the biggest fan of plasmas you could do worse than that for the money. Would be grand for watching the sports

Got the 50" ex-showroom for €350 (no remote).
    Everyone seems satisfied :)
