(Nearly)Anonymous Facebook Death Threat

Just wondering what I can do. One of my friends ex boyfriends left a nasty comment on her page, and I commented on it, basically asking if this guy is for real.

Anyway, a while later I noticed I had a private message from some guy called Ali Fayed who said he was best friends with the boyfriend and that he was going to "hunt" me and my family down for dishonoring and threatening his friend in a public forum. I did not in anyway threaten his friend but both of these guys are Arabs so I'm not sure if the relatively harmless nature of my comment was misinterpreted. I cannot click on his name in the message to lead me to this guys profile as I am blocked from seeing it and thus neither can I report it. His privacy settings will not allow me to reply to his message either. When I do a search for "Ali Fayed" there are too many results, and I'm not sure if him blocking me would ensure that if I search for his profile I can't find it, just to work out who he is.

Does anyone have any suggestions or been in a similar situation?

Report it to facebook and don't worry about it.

Yeah, I tried that but normally if I want to report a message I go:

Actions, report/block user and then click the report box that comes up in the next window.

However, when I go through that process now there is no report button available for this guy so I can't report the abuse in the traditional manner...

There is always a report button... For everything on facebook

    Did you block him?

If so, unblock him and try it, if not, then possible Facebook has already taken action

No, I did not block him, I never encountered this person before. I'll just go about some other way of reporting it. Thanks for the advise Tallon.

I can't tell because when I click on the name in the title of the message It does not link to any account like a normal message from a friend would do, it's just static text without linking elsewhere.

Ha, I'm just hoping nothing comes of it. But if the worst comes to the worst, it has been recorded here, so you guys will know what the story is! :pac:

Not much good if you're dead. If you think it might be a credible threat, report it to the gardaí. Even if it's just someone being a plonker, he might get the fright of his life if a couple of uniforms show up at his door!
