07 Opel Vivaro egr valve

Egr valve is f***ked in the father's van. its the 2 litre new type engine. the van never was never maintained thats why it needs a new one. the thing is there must be different parts of the egr valve, because he already bought an egr valve off opel, but now the mechanic is sayin it was only 1 bit of the egr valve? anyone know what i have to ask for in opel to get the other bit of it and how much its likely to cost?
