Is it possible to configure the Edge 500 to just record display/record time and HR info for use on a Turbo / Exercise bike? Without it trying to turn itself off every 5 minutes without movement?

You can turn off the GPS function on it which will allow you to use it indoors, plus you can continue to use cadence, speed sensors, HR etc. Hope this helps!

You may need to switch off the "Auto Power Down" feature within the "System" menu to prevent it turning itself off - it will read your HR whether the timer is running or not (although will not record it unless the timer is on which needs the auto pause switched off or the speed sensor operational)

If you have the speed sensor on the back wheel and the GPS switched off it will record distance based on the wheel circumference entered
