Weather conditions getting to airport

Lads just a quick question. Not sure if this is the correct forum.

I missed a flight because I couldnt get to the airport in time because of the road conditions.

I tried to cancel my flight or change the dates when I realised I wouldn't make it but they said there was no refund and it was non exchangeable. It was the cheapest option.

Is there anything I can do? It was an international flight.

Claim tax back is about all I think. If I heard a met alert on the news bulletins (never mind on the weather forecast) I'd be out at the airport a good few hours earlier than needs be... Just be wiser in future is all.

If it was Ryanair forget, it actually costs more to reclaim the tax then it's worth.

    Doubt it to be honest.
Difficulty getting to the airport is not the problem of the airlines.
As you booked the cheapest option your opportunities for refunds are probably very limited.

    people would make you sick.

sorry to hear you missed your flight. it would be good if they can do something for you maybe you can check your email confirmation of your booking you might find it there (if theres lots of small text then Ctrl+F and search for 'refund' or something ) :(

It is unfortunate about the OP missing their flight however they stated they had booked the "cheapest option". I would guess that the lowest fares have less flexibility to refund/change than others.

In addition all airlines tell you to b at the airport X minutes before departure. Thus the airlines will not care and will politely (depends on the airline) decline the inquiry.
