On average what would you expect to pay for a set of plates?

I am talking just the plates where you do the hard job of drilling a hole and afixing them to the car.

I know it makes me sound like a twat but all the plates on my three cars are not metal as best I can determine - never really examined them before!:)

I mean not metal. Perspex, plastic I'm not sure. Guy stuck them in what looked like a normal printer, reg came out, I stuck them on with auto-double sided tape and have had no issues a year later. I retrospect I might have splashed out on metal ones as they do look a little better and might be a bit less nickable being bolted on, but mine do the job fine.

I forget the name of the place but it was on John F Kennedy Drive off the Naas Road. On the left hand side of the road about 500-700m off main road in a small unit as I recall. Not much in the way of signs up but I think there was a small sign about licence plates. Small motor factors I think. Grubby looking place with grunty surly workers but job done cheap and quick.
