Make yourself a 2 meter high "tin foil" cone shaped hat.Put hat on head, and stick head out the window. At the same time stick your finger in the back of the telly. At will become clear.............

I had a metal hanger that I unwound into one long wire and stuck the end into an empty beercan. I believe the can was just for effect but it worked nicely. My brother swears by a beercan on the top of the TV for reception.

A battery seems to work wonders - one of those big ones pushing right into the aerial socket.

Why don't you switch off your tv set and go do something less boring instead?

Op, dont use coat hangers or "bunny ears" :) thing of the past :)
Just buy a proper aerial. Sure you can buy one in powercity for 40 euro. Its an outdoor aerial but can actually be used in doors. You can pick up soarview with it too if you buy a soarview receiver. But as it stands you'll still receive analog signal until the end of 2012 with it.

Lidl have a Saorview box on sale this Thursday. http://www.lidl.ie/cps/rde/xchg/lidl_ri_ie/hs.xsl/index_14607.htm

Get a cheap aerial and away you go,I've seen perfect reception with one from a €2 shop but depends on your location. http://www.saorview.ie/make-the-switch/coverage-checker/coverage-map/

Anyway what's on Irish tv that's really worth watching??
