I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I just wanted to ask if anyone knew what happened on the N4 this morning? I've never seen the traffic that bad before.

I think there was an accident.
For your future motoring (in/around Dublin) the most up to date traffic reports are on Dublin City FM 103.2. Livedrive is on from 7am to 10am and again from 4pm to 7pm. They're live from the traffic management centre so have access to all the cameras, plus most of the listeners contribute for stuff outside of the camera's range. You'll know if there is an incident within minutes of it happening and they often give alternative routes.
    Music is pretty good too!

+1 for Dublin City FM. AA reports on other stations are usually WAY out of date by comparison.
I was heading the opposite direction on the N4/M4 this morning - didn't look like fun inbound.

There was a crash at the footbridge between Woodies and Sureweld. The cars were pulled into the bus lane when I passed around 8.10, but everyone was slowing down to have a gawk. Traffic was solid, backed up way before the Newcastle junction.

+1 for Live Drive. Great music too!

What time was this? I must have missed it completely. There was very little traffic when I was coming in (about 9:45am).

It was backed up to around Maynooth when I was heading out after 8:30.
