H&B are the type opf shop where items are priced so ridiculously high, that it only becomes worth shopping there whn thye have their 1c or half price sales and even then they are no great bargain but at least reasonable value.

anyway - they have a sale on every month or so anyway.

One thing I was looking at

    http://www.hollandandbarrett.ie/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=887&prodid=974&sid=46

    €63.40

    On Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Maximuscle-Cyclone-Chocolate-Strength-Supplement/dp/B000OYZ4HG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1319480754&sr=8-1

    £39
So £78 for two, a saving of about €27. Not bad but it'd take you a fair while to go through two tubs of the stuff.

Holland and barrett UK = 44.99 - about €52 (real exchange rate) + add about 6-8% for extra costs in Ireland, lets say €55.

So a further 17% because we're in Ireland.

I have no problem matching UK prices in my business ( I sell into the UK too), what's the difficulty with many of the UK multiples? (not all)

Try your local independent health store, you'll be surprised at the difference!

17%, thats very good. Sports supplements like that are 0% VAT in the UK and 21% here. You should be complaining to your local politician about VAT rates rather than shooting the messenger.

I find H&B cheap for somethings, like bulk peanut butter and some unsalted nuts, some things in the shop are like pizza menus where half price IS the normal price.

The sports supps are a ripoff, there are loads of other places to go, like myprotein or bulkpowders check the fitness forum
