    Hi,
I got a HKC wired external bell which I want to use to replace an old rusty bell box installed 20 years ago. The panel is a Kestral Merlin.
Here is the panel diagram attached below.
Does the HKC prefer 6 wires and what if there are only 4 available?
    Thanks.

    Panel HKC Sabb

    4 red
    ext bell +
    5 blue
    ext bell -

    16 black
    BHO
    17 yellow
    tamper return

Loop a pair of cores in the sabb from ext bell positive and negative to the strobe for four core only. If you have six cores.

    6 white
    strobe +
    7 green
    strobe -

Thanks, What does Bell Hold Off(BHO) mean?

Its a permanant neg connection from the panel. If its removed( eg if the cable is cut or disconnected the bell rings on its own battery power)

Grand. So the internal bell and the strobe share slots 6 and 7 on the panel?

So the option to have the bell strobe flash continuously or be always on is for the when the alarm is not triggered? What happens the strobes LEDS when it is triggered?

    Thanks

Just noticed I have an internal sounder that only has two wires going to it. I am thinking it would be worth upgrading to something that has a tamper. How would I wire up a HKC internal sounder to this panel?
    Thanks.

Just wire the tamper into the auxiliary loop, terminals 18 and 19.
