Car Insurance after a claim

Hi all any help or experience would be very much appreciated.

I ran into the back of someone 3 years ago and he claimed against my insurance. I don't know the exact details of what the claim was but the amount I was told by my insurer was 37,000 euro!!

Anyways I (thankfully!) had my no claims bonus protected so my premium hasn't gone up too much but I still think I'm paying over the odds for my insurance.

Some of the online systems won't quote me (I assume because of the amount of the previous claim) and I'm just wondering do I have any options or do I grin and bear it until the 5 year declaration period is up??

    Many thanks

Its usually 3 years depending on the insurance company. Some will not quote you if you've had a crash or been uninsured for 2 years.

37000?! What did you hit, the queens carriage?

A bloody Primera! He jumped out of the car but when we got talking he said "actually i think I can feel that in my neck", so I don't know but the Insurance Investigator said he already had a few claims based on injury. Anyways that doesn't change anything I'm afraid, I just know what the letter said - 37K!!

I'd guess someone got a very sore neck/back and has suffered a very severe loss of life happiness.

I really really hope so, particularly the cnut that got money for a non-existent injury out of my insurance.
