Folks any cures for shaving rash? I use after shave balm all the time, have changed razors and shaving foam but still appear to be getting a rash from it. Thanks

I know it sounds like very mundane and obvious advice, but you have to shave in the direction of the growth of the hair. Quite often a rash is caused by shaving across or against the grain. Also with foams and gels these days, they can be quite drying. Stick to a good quality cream shave and a good blade. Personally, I also use an astringent lotion before and after to prime the skin and then to close the pores. Works for me and I have really sensitive skin..

I agree with the post above. You should try exfoliating before shaving as well so you don't get any ingrown hairs.

You can get exfoliating brushes and gloves in Dunnes. I'd say only use them a max of 3 times a week so you don't strip your skin raw. I usually do it twice a week. When exfoliating, always bring the brush/glove upwards. Never bring it down. Bringing it downward will only hinder keeping your skin firm. Also, when you exfoliate you're increasing your circulation which helps gives a nice glow. Hope this helps :)

Try putting savlon on the skin right after you shave it. And keep it well moisturised. Also make sure you use a new razor everytime you shave then, stop bacteria agitating it more.

also aloe vera gel (which is usually pretty cheap and can be got in most chemists) is great for stopping those awful red bumps after shaving legs and elsewhere! Though from the responses i'm guessing you're talking about your face..
