    Hi everybody,

I got a quick question. Just noticed on my laptop that the C: is almost full and went through the programs list to see what I can delete but there doesnt seem to much there to take up so much room. So was wondering is there a command or a way for me to say every single file on my laptop to see which are the biggest so I can get rid of??

    Thanks all :)

You might try going into add/remove programs and see if you can take out any that you're not using.
Also have a look in your documents folder - especially the downloads folder. There could be a chunk of stuff in there that you may have forgotten about that could go.
Might also be time for a bigger hard drive and a clean install of windows.

i use a little free program called tree size free. It scans your drive and shows all the folders in order of size so you know where the bulk of your space is.

You should REALLY think about changing/upgrading from Vista.

Delete your temporary internet files and set you browser to never retain history.

If your system is running error free turn off system restore delete all the restore points turn it back on again with a smaller size and create a restore point.

Dwonload and run CCleaner. It automatically removes temporary files and temp internet files etc. Good idea to run it every now and then, it will also tell you the figure of what it recovered space wise

Nonsense, Windows Vista patched up to date is as good as Windows 7, they're nearly identical except for a few superficial changes. If the dog doesn't eat his dinner, you put it back in the tin an give it to him again tomorrow, that's what M$ did.

@OP, save your money on Windows 7 and get more ram if needed

I had a call other day from smart pc care i think it was. He got me to put in a number and was able to show me all the eoors , applications etc. And offered me a way to erase them and clean my computer so it would go better and faster. But then asked me for credit card no to get fee of over 130 euros. Needless to say i did not bite. Anyone know a free programme to do this ?

CCleaner as I mentioned above, although you would want to run virus scans and remove any remote access stuff they loaded on, Check this computer call scam thread in this forum!

some programs on my screen have gone very small, too small in fact to read. There iused be a way i could enlarge from say 80 -100-120 on bottom right hand corner, but it has disappeared. how can i get it back. Sometimes my cursor gets stuck on the screen, and sort of freezes, when i try to move it, it reduce the print size. Anyone please.

DPI Settings? Start>Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced>General>Change DPI, 96 is normal. If on Windows Vista/7>Start>control Panel>Display>Set custom text DPI on left.
Make sure you are using your monitors optimal resolution also
