The rough spec is 4GB ram, 250 GB HDD. Not sure of the clock speed. The model is the 5335. Anyone have experience of this make or model? Are Acer reliable?

I've had Acer before but I see that laptop is being given away with a mobile contract in the UK and it's here http://www.expansys.ie/acer-acer-travelmate-celeron-netbook-bundle-with-windows-7-home-premium-64-bit-220066/ at the same price as Tesco.
There must be deals on it everywhere.

I hope it isnt the same processor as the one in that link there, that one is a Celeron 925, a SINGLE-CORE chip despite the fact dual-core laptop chips have been around for about 5 years. Put simply, when many PHONES now have dual core processors, you know a single core chip just isn't good enough, even at this price

One I seen for €299 in Tesco today was an Acer 732z, 15'6inch screen P6100 Processor, its suppose to be an i3 with less features, 3gb ram and 250gb HD, not bad..

That's a far better proposition in fairness, not the worst deal at all for 300€, have it running right and it'd be a grand laptop for most people..

I got that one a few weeks ago & I must say its excellent for everyday use. One thing to remember is that Office 2010 is on the hard drive, but to use it you have to purchase an activation key. My advice would be to get Office 2010 from www.software4students.ie. If you can, get the 3-user version & you can use it among family/friends. Crikey, I see its only 60 yoyos now.

Wouldnt buy a cheap Acer tbh, you may as well buy emachines then(rebrand).

Oh wait, just googled that model, it appears it is an emachine. Ewwww no.

I am using the same Acer for nearly the last 2.5 years. Its grand, does the job using the net and watching dvds. Takes a fair bit of abuse from me so they are robust.

Littlewoods have a 10 inch notebook for €279 & I'm sure there's a code for discount here .Might not be bad

Anyone seen this Acer in Dublin?

Dundrum only has the Celeron 925 version.

Just pray to god you won't have a fault with it... Acer are the worst company I've ever dealt with.. Nightmare.

Couldn't find one locally so showed the printout to DID and they matched the €299 no problem.
