How to get a Part-Time Job (in Dublin)

    Hey guys,

I have no experience working therefore I'm finding it difficult to get a job.
I'm 19 years of age and have been trying the last few weeks, handing my CV around (printed on cream cards) and placed in a brown envelope, and so on but no luck.

Has anybody who never had experience before got a job at my age and if so... HOW??

Thanks, advice and personal experience would be much appreciated.
    :)

I got a part time job that was advertised on fas jobs bank. Thats a fairly good website imo. I never handed around hard copies of cvs. althoug that'd be a good idea as something might eventually come up.
Whilst I had two years experience working, it wasn't that related to the job I'm in now.
In stead of previous job experience, perhaps you could bulk up your cv with voluntary experience or the like.
I have a suspicion that employers will only look at the first few applications for non-skilled part time work because it often seems to be the luck of the draw as to who gets a job or not.So I'd advise you to keep an eye on sites such as jobs.ie and fas. Check it every night. Be persistant and apply for every job you can and hopefully you'll get something.
