Song number 8 on any given album is the diamond of that album. Its science.
What album are you listening to? I bet track 8 is a peach...

I'm listening to the Platoon soundtrack and song 8 is Sittin on the dock of the bay...sweet tune.

Fools Gold wasn't on that album!

And 'Dont Stop' is Waterfall in reverse! Full Fathom Five is Elephant Stone in reverse. Neither Full Fathom Five nor Elephant Stone were on 'The Stone Roses'

Perfectly true with Van Morrison's album "Days Like This" released in 1995

=>song #8 'Days Like This' is actually one of favourites by Van :)

Good Song?!...its arguably the best song on the album....

We could probably do with a few examples..

Full metal jacket soundtrack - The Marines' Hymn...Should be everyones alarmclock.
Metallica - Black Album - Nothing else matters
Kings of leon - youth and young manhood - Mollys chambers
    Fleet Foxes - Your protector

ok I got the US Re-release version that year which makes all your above points invalid :p

You'd be pushed to find anything decent on a Killers album though.

Of all the albums I've been listening to recently only Slash's solo record has track 8 as the best song on the album.

There isn't a lot between most of the songs on the album in fairness.

Probably the least good song on the album

Actually, it doesn't even come near to anything else on the album

Yes i also subscribe to this...with song 7 being the second best. I always thought this was because the 7th(or 8th even) song was usually the first song on the second side of a cassette tape (yes im very old)

Album: The Black Parade - My Chemical Romance
    Track 8: Cancer

Not my personal favorite....but it is quite a strong track....
