    my gf got a new learner permit her old one was expiered 2 years ago but my question is can she drive un acompaned??

    Theres an old Irish rumor that you at some stage could drive on your own without a full licence. This is never the case, no matter what number of previous provisional licences/lerners permits you can never drive alone.

    It was the law until about 3/4 years ago.

    Everyone used to tell me that then a driving instructor told me it was all lies, I dont know really though, I just know its not the case now.

    It was the case that you could drive on your own on a second provisional licence legally but not on a first or third or subsequent provisional licence but the law was changed. I drove legally on my own on a second provisional back in 2000-2001, not the case 10 year on
