    Hi,

I am currently renovating our main bathroom and I am looking for advice about where to purchase good quality yet affordable sanitary ware etc. We want modern design, not traditional. Any suggestions? Also the cheapest place to buy a good shower pump? We are looking for one to do the whole house...

    Thanks :)

If you go to Chadwicks, or your plumber does (probably the same in Heat Merchants) they will give you the sonas catalogue, which has reasonably well designed stuff. Tradesmen who do regular business will get good prices there.

I ordered some Grohe shower stuff from showermania in the UK and that worked out pretty well.

My own experience is that pumps are very expensive in our little country. You can probably import pumps less expensively. I paid 600 euros to my plumber (who purchased in heat merchants) for a pump that was available for GBP 300 in the UK. However, you may get limited warranty support for a pump bought in the UK and in use here.

Somebody who is into the plumbing end may be able to explain the pros and cons better than me.

Ideal Bathrooms in Ballymount (http://www.idealbathrooms.ie/idealbathrooms/Main/Home.htm) have the higher-end gear, and prices to match.

Ikea have a sink that I really like, the Ann.
