    Hi folks,
I changed the stem on my handlebars but now when I pull on the front brake the is some movement forks? I've ensured the stem is on tight and the round black cover is tight. Also under the black cover the nut is tight. The spacers can spin around and also the 'FSA' ring between spacers and frame? Can anyone help me with this as I've no idea what else to do and don't want to miss out on 2moros spin!
    Thanks in advance,
    Olmo

Did you tighten the top cap before tightening the stem? This is really crucial, otherwise you don't get the compression needed to hold the whole thing in place.

As Dirk says, you need to pre-load the bearings by tightening the topcap then loosening it, fix the stem tight then tighten the topcap again but not as tight as when you pre-loaded the bearings.

BTW that an awfully high stck reach you have there. I'm sure its fine but I wouldn't feel comfortable with that gap between the stem and headset.

Thanks guys for the quick reply!I'll undo it again now and tighten the top cap 1st. The bike came that way with the difference in height between the stem and headset. I swapped out the stem for a smaller one but now I want to put on the original one back on. Hope that will be it!
    Thanks

there must be at least 30mm of spacers there. If it came that way it doesnt mean it HAS TO BE that way.
I would take at least half of those spacers out and move the stem down.

I moved 2 spacers to above the stem but I still have play in the fork? Checked out youtube for videos and they showed the same as dirk and velo said .I'll just bring it to my LBS on Monday and they can look at it for me as I'm puzzled .
    Thanks for the help guys.
