'Please Scan Channels'..?

I recently connected to Sky and bought a new (Hanspree TV) in the same weekend.

This morning, when I turned on the TV the message I got was 'Please Scan Channels'. I rang the shop I bought the TV from, assuming it was an issue with the TV (I did press 'Menu' and followed the instructions to Scan Channels, but still a blank screen and 'Please Scan Channels') and am awaiting a call back from them.

I've just rang Sky and can't get through and am awaiting a call back from them too - is this a TV issue or a SKy issue?

Any help would be really appreciated, thanks alot.

It's only asking you to scan channels if an aerial is connected.

If the skybox is connected via scart then press the source button on your tv remote to select which input it's connected to e.g AV1

The same applies if it's connected via HDMI-you select whichever HDMI input it's plugged into in the tv.

All this is explained in the TV's manual.

    BTW-Sky won't ring you back.

Actually sky did ring me back - explained that it wasn't their problem but went through how I could get channels back (I pressed 'input' on the remote and got an option to re-connect to HDM1)...all sorted, thanks

Edit: you can close/delete this post as appropriate mods, thanks.

Very unusual for them to ring back.

At least you got sorted,it's amazing how one little button causes so much hassle, had to do the same for someone last week-they thought Sky cut them off:)

Yep, I found out the little man sat on the remote and it went back to previous settings (scan channel)...the sky fella was very helpful I must say..had years of (dreadful) upc before this, so hopefully, it's an omen ;) Thanks again.
