Lay Off & Redundancy Entitlements

I have been laid off by my employer with little chance of ever being taken back on. He says he can do this for 13 weeks whilst awaiting resolution of negotiations that might lead to him starting to trade again. Another company that will be competing for some of the same work have offered me employment on a full time basis.…

I have been laid off by my employer with little chance of ever being taken back on. He says he can do this for 13 weeks whilst awaiting resolution of negotiations that might lead to him starting to trade again. Another company that will be competing for some of the same work have offered me employment on a full time basis. If I take up this employment during the 13 week period will I lose my redundancy entitlements with my original employer as I am not available to work for him ?
