is there a locknut on cars with no alloys?

    anybody know if there is a locknut on vw jettas with no alloys? 2 tyres are flat and owner is on hols with keys.. thanks

    Doubt it, steel wheels are hardly every robbed.

    Anyway you can tell by removing the plastic wheel trin and looking at the nuts on the wheel. A locking nut will look a bit different to the other nuts on the wheel. If they all look the same then there isn't any on it I'm sure.

    Not likely, I've never ever seen this. Even many people with alloys drive around with normal nuts (guess it depends where you're located).

    If the level of scumbaggery continues to escalate then even steel wheels with good tyres will need to be locked, metal plates put under petrol tanks to prevent puncture for fuel theft and catalytic convertors welded in to place.
