Motor Insurance claim - 2 lots of excess payable

I have 2 vehicles which are insured fully comprehensively in my name.

Back in August my wife who is a named driver on both policies reversed one car into another.

I informed my insurance companies of the accident and was told that as I was the policyholder on both vehicles, then I had to make a claim on each of the policies. This therefore making me liable to pay out two lots of excess - which obviously don't want to do.

I am disputing this with them , as I believe that there was one accident and one person at fault and it is that policy that should pay out for the damage to both vehicles.

Any advice or thoughts on this one????

or does this thread need moving to the Legal Forum????

    thanks

    Chris

Have a look at this recent thread with similar case.

I am already surprised to see that case in this thread legal. I wouldn't be so surprised if yours is covered somewhere in terms and conditions in a language that a human being can't understand
