Traveling through there next week and need a hotel for a night near the airport.

Anyone know of anything since Aer Arann fly to Waterford from there I was thinking somebody must have stayed there?

Thanks in advance...don't need anything fancy, just something close to the airport and decent!

I have stayed at Southend. I wasn't there to use the airport however, so my hotel was about 4 miles from it. It was very nice though. There is a bus stop right outside that goes into the centre of Southend. There are also fairly regular buses from Southend out to the airport I believe.

The airport is just on the outskirts of Southend, I think it's about 2 stops on the train which aren't far apart.

I only went their on day trips from London so didn't stay in the area, just there for the seaside and amusements on the espalande and a bit of shopping.

I can recommend Frankie & Bennys for somewhere to eat.

Thanks dmum. What's the buzz like there, is it nice or full of sketchy fookers running around? Appreciate the help.

I was only there during the day, didn't stay at night so cannot say what it was like in the evenings but it seemed alright.

I'm thinking of going over early next year.

I'm arriving in London Sat for a cousins 50th birthday then going out there Sunday and fly to Waterford on Monday. I'll let you know what I see on Sunday night!

    Thanks again

I stayed at the Camilia (sp) Hotel for a match last season - not the best to be honest, but right on the sea-front

We all had Dinner at Azzuro's - great spot!
