Travelling to Blanchardstown Centre

Hiya,

I was recently employed by Penneys in Blanchardstown and I was wondering what the fastest and cheapest way would be to get from Drumcondra or The City Centre to Blanchardstown. I took the 39a from town the other day and it took about 35mins to get there but on the way back I got the 37 and it took an hour! I know that there is a train station in Drumcondra, near St. Pat's but I'm not sure if there's train stations in blanch. In total I'd be taking 4 buses in the day because I would have to get to and from town. Are there other buses that maybe go from Drumcondra to blanch?

train to coolmine train station from drumcondra, then a 15-20min walk to the shopping centre up past the community school.

Yup, best shot train from Drumcondra to either:

- Coolmine then walk up (or hop a 239 if it comes by)
- Clonsilla then a 39 to the Centre (not particularly frequent these days though)

you could buy a weekly/monthly ticket, but if your hours are irregular and you arent out there every day a smart card is prob the best bet, a single journey would be €2.10, you just tag on at drumcondra, and off at coolmine, you top the card up at the machines in the station.

Bear in mind that route ignores the pedestrian pathway that keeps going straight from the Clonsilla Road junction, so in essence it's really about 20-22 minutes

Depending on your shifts it might suit to cycle and bring the bike on the train -- which is free. Might also help if you live a bit away from the station in Drumcondra.

Bikes are allowed on between 10:00 and 15:30 and after 19:00.
