    Hi,
I am starting work next week for the first time in 2 years as I have been in college.
Having looked on the revenue website am I right in saying I should fill out either a p46 or 12a form for my tax credits?

Which one is best/fastest to give to the company?

I cant find my old p45 and also I presume I wouldn't give that anyway since I haven't worked this year.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

12a for you the employee to fill in.

The fastest way to receive your tax credit cert , would be to apply through paye anytime at www.revenue.ie

Note that as we are now into October and it is most likely that you will receive a 'week1 ' tax cert , meaning that you will pay tax on a weekly basis from now until year end .

This of course may depend on your earnings circumstances from 1st Jan to date .

P46 is the correct form, and shorter / easier to complete.

F12a is only necessary when you've never worked before.
