Recording getting cut

Just a quick one. The last two days Ive been watching NHL on Setanta via UPC HD Box, due to it being at at daft o clock in the morning I need to record it to watch it the next day. The first game went into Overtime and the second was cut short by 4 minutes and the recording stopped due to the scheduling finishing early.

My question is how can I stiop this? Setting it up to record 10 minutes before and after doesnt work as this messes with recordings during the day (Back to Back) that the missus would set up. When you are watching something live you can set a time to finish but how can I do this if Im setting something to record 4 hours in advance?

If it's at stupid o'clock, why not record the programme immediately following it then delete after you've watched the game. That's what I do where there's a chance of extra time in the football.. Not ideal but a workaround.

go to dvr then set repeat recording and you can set the channel number, the time you want it to record for etc..

Tried this but this also misses parts of the game due to it not starting immediately after the previous recording. But yes an option just would be easier to set a time
