We are getting married at the end of Nov. We haven't had much time to think about the all importatnt honeymoon as we have a 2yr old and a 5 month old and with organising of the wedding, the honeymoon has taken a back set.

We are looking at 10 max, as we will find it very hard to leave the lads. My idea of a honeymoon is sitting on the beach with the sun on my face and a cocktail in my hand.

As we have been very busy over the last number of years, the honeymoon will be all about romance and spending some time together and relaxing.

Has anyone got any suggestions for January? I was thinking of the Bahamas or Barbados but I'm not sure if its the right time of the year for these locations.

We had our honeymoon in Jan and did a caribbean cruise and a few days in Key West at the foot of Florida.

Weather was lovely and with a 7 day cruise you could easily do both !

funny that, i was going to recommend florida too, key west is really relaxed, not like a typical US city, great restaurants and bars, try pier house for luxury, has its own private beach, and they'll serve you in your sunlounger, last time i was there the pool area didnt close, we had the pool and whirlpool all to ourselves after coming back from the bars, the drive down is out of this world too

We loved Key West and Sloppy Joe's is a must. Also the sunset cruise with music !

We Stayed in the Ocean Key.

If your driving down look for the No Name Pub:)

The maldives - check out www.baros.com or any resort really, tripadivsor will help

Perfect weather than time of year.

The right island in the Maldives would be nice and secluded giving you private enjoyment of the beach, if that's what you want.
However Key West, while still being a rather chilled spot, would be a little more alive and thriving with people. Don't know if January would be as warm though, as have always been there in the summer. Personally I love Hard Rock Cafe and their cocktails there...

Cuba would also be fab, we went there last November and it was really nice. We only went for 7 days and found that was too short but 10 days would be perfect. You could go to Havana for a few days to have a 'city experience' which would give you a really good taste for Cuba and then go to Varadero which is a beach resort for a few days. Very relaxing and sunny!
