Registration fee reimbursement

    Hi,

I'm just after going into my second year after sitting two repeat exams. I was able to apply for a maintenance grant, and like last year, I was expecting it to cover my registration. However, I couldn't fully apply for the grant without registering first, as the college wouldn't give me a confirmation letter until I had actually registered. And to do this, I needed to pay the registration fee.
I was told at the time that if I didn't pay the registration fee, there would be a 'late fine' added on which wouldn't be covered by the grant, but that if I paid the registration, it would eventually be reimbursed.

I managed to get loans from various people to cover it and registered, and I've just received a letter from the council confirming that I'd get the grant, and now I'm not actually sure what'll happen.

I asked in college whether or not the registration fee would just be paid back into my bank account or what the whole procedure is, but I was just told to talk to the council about it. I won't actually have a chance to talk to them until I can go home next week, so I thought I'd ask here.

In my experience of paying the reg fee, usually if you have paid it in full and then get awarded the grant, you show your grant letter of acceptance to the college and they reimburse you via your bank account...
