Has anyone used these? Are they any good? Also is there much point in upgrading the controls when you have a number of TVR's installed and heating + water zones already.

The only thing I would add is a outdoor temperature sensor which is wired into the boiler and adjusts the boiler output depending on the temperature outside, I havn't worked a Ideal but I think there are no bad boilers anymore, service, a long warranty and parts availability should be a factor when looking at a boiler make.
